Tennis clothing is recommended for play.
Players are required to wear a top (including singlet or t-shirt) and sport shoes.
Whilst tennis shoes are highly recommended to prevent injury, cross trainers are accepted (non marking soles are prohibited). Players should note, that you will be requested to cease play should you not have adequate footwear (heels, marking soles, flip flops, bare feet, socks or boots are not acceptable)

Please wear cool and comfortable clothing with allows you to move freely. In summer, please remember a hat, sunscreen (there will be some provided at each venue) and a water bottle. Whilst we understand summertime can be hot, shirtless play is not allowed at our venues.

Junior Coaching FAQs

Your child can start tennis from as young as 3 years old in lessons aimed at developing motor skills, fundamentals, tennis skills and teamwork

Each child is different in their motivation to play, their abilities and their concentration level. For this reason, we have a number of different programs and time lengths to suit each player. Simply book in for a free trial and our coaches will be able to advise

No, we can provide a racquet for your child’s lesson. Once your child has started lessons we encourage the child to have their own racquet so they can play away from their lesson.

You can sign your child up through our external enrolment page and a member of our team will contact you to book in for a free trial

Group and squad sessions are structured according to age and ability, where possible, keeping the level and reason for playing similar. We use our Certificate Program as a guide so that each child’s progression can be planned and monitored. Please be aware that this may mean siblings of different ages and abilities may have to attend at slightly different times.

Your coach will guide your child along this pathway and advise of upcoming events that will be suitable for your child.

VTA has a comprehensive competition pathway which we will guide your child along.

You can sign up throughout the year, subject to availability. We always try to accommodate your needs and can also place you on a waitlist for your preferred session.

All junior enrolments are automatically rolled over to the following term unless you have give us 14 days notice prior to the end of the month

Refer to our Policies page for cancellation details

If we have to cancel due to rain you will receive an SMS before the class. If you do not hear from us the lesson will be going ahead.

All missed sessions are able to be made up, provided prior notice has been given to missing the session. You can notify absence through the Customer Portal HERE. Once you have notified absence, you will have an option to book a make up session through the portal.

All make ups are to be made up in the term they are from. We cannot carry make up sessions over to the next term.

You can read all our make up policy by CLICKING HERE

Adult FAQs

Adult bookings are made through our Mindbody booking System.

In the event of rain, VTA will send through a message prior to the class and your Mindbody account will be credited for that missed session.

Our online system will provide you will details of the classes. If you are unsure which class to book, we recommend giving us a call beforehand to talk through – (03) 98200100.

For Hygiene reasons, we encourage everyone to bring their own equipment. We understand that for first timers this isn’t always possible. We have a limited number of racquets that can be hired for $5 (this covers the cost of a new clean overgrip between users)
